I'm a mugger!

Let me mug you!  I would love to make you a custom one of a kind mug!

I make our tankards with wooden staves, similar to the method used in the 13th century.  Although similar to historical metal tankards with glass bottoms, our idea for a clear bottom with images comes from a childhood memory of my

father's lithophane beer stein. I loved picking those up just to see the image on the bottom and wanted to recreate that idea.

Unless otherwise requested, we make our mugs out of solid oak and use natural stain. Our standard mug is approximately 7 inches tall and holds at least 32 oz. of hot or cold beverages. There are over 30 steps to make one mug with the last being an oil finish with wax seal to allow for character to develop in the mug and minimal care needed when simple care instructions are followed.

My joy is making a mug hand in hand with the customer.  You pick what the side and bottom image should be and the stain and colors you want then I take over and make it happen.  Special touches can be added as well like a different handle, maybe a branch, axe, kraken tentacle or cutlass is more fitting for you or you want a name or message carved in.  Perhaps you have an idea to challenge me. That is when I am at my happiest!
